Keep it cute, keep it spooky.

Halloween is right around the corner, and that just makes me so happy! I know I had mentioned before, but this really is just one of my favorite holidays. Ry and I did some fun "Halloween-themed" activities with and without Hudson this past weekend. Here is my run-down from the two events we attended;
Saturday night Ryan's co-workers hosted an outing to the Queen Mary's #Darkharbor. This was the first time for both of us, typically sticking to Knott's Scary Farm or Universal's Halloween Horror Nights. It totally compared spook wise, and the ability to walk along corridors inside the actual ship made me love it even more, but lines were long and crowded just like the other two parks. I would recommend purchasing either the VIP tickets or front of the line passes if you plan on going to any of the venues mentioned. We got our tickets from Costco.com and ended up with a pretty sweet deal, two for $79. Groupon was also doing deals for single tickets. Definitely worth looking into different sites/supermarkets prior to purchasing. I always love to get a little bit of a deal! We parked at the Maya hotel and it ended up costing $27 for parking, compared pretty close to other lots around. Getting there when it opens is another great way to get your moneys worth, especially if you didn't purchase the FOTL passes. I've noticed over the years that groups tend to show up later in the night vs. when it first opens. Likewise for both Knott's and Universal.
Sunday night we took Hudbud to Pumpkin Nights in Pomona. This is a traveling show and have select cities they hit. Lucky for us we were close enough to be able to attend. Tickets were reasonably priced and parking was $12. Very family oriented, with bounce houses and face painting booths set up. The carved pumpkins throughout were spectacular, with loads of spots to get the perfect picture. We are already planning a trip back next year.
Having our son makes every single tradition old and new, that much more exciting. I look so forward to watching Hudson get excited for this holiday.
Halloween is not only about putting on a costume, but it's about finding the imagination and costume within ourselves. - Elvis Duran

What are some of your favorite Halloween traditions?
Until next time,
