Hudson's FIRST Hootenanny

So it happened, we celebrated our little babes 1st birthday. All I can say is that it truly was a BLUR. Between the speedy set-up, to stressing from loud music coming from the site below ours, or to just the unknown of how it all was going to go, I can't remember much! But we did it and it actually went off without a hitch!

We chose a Cowboy theme, because honestly what is cuter than a little boy in a Cowboy hat and bandana?! The planning began about a month and a half ago, and thanks to #Pinterest and #Amazon, we found everything we needed and every idea to get the party started!

Below are some pictures of the decorations. We had hay bales, a cactus shaped ring toss (courtesy of my handy fiancé) for the kiddos, a teepee, wanted poster photo area with coordinating props, boot shaped chip & dip holders, cow print and cactus and boot shaped balloons. Our lovely friend Lauren made the adorable cactus themed cupcakes, and his cow print themed smash cake. All of it turned out amazing and super delicious! We ordered our sandwiches from our local #Boardandbrew and got most of the dips and chips from #Costco.

I made Rice Krispie treats for the "hay bales", and used #Twizzler pull and peels for "lassos". Inside the loot goodie bags I put a Cowboy themed temporary tattoo, mini deck of cards, some chocolate coins and a themed lollipop. Again thank goodness for Pinterest.

We had 50 of our *closest friends and family show up to celebrate our little Hud-bud. Ry and I left that night feeling insanely grateful to everyone and also insanely tired from all of the running around. With it all said and done, we won't be throwing a big party again for about 4 years, haha! I still highly recommend having a 1st birthday bash though! Nothing better than watching your little one take their first bite of real sugar, it's just too good to pass up!

Until next time,

Beep Beep
